On June 26th, members of our club braved the inclement weather to support this show to help out a family whose son, Dallas, is going through a tough time and the family definitely needed help. The show was held at Westport Bowl/ Columbia City Saloon. The morning was dry until we neared Columbia Illinois. After we arrived, the rain was light and we had hoped that it would end soon. Wrong, cars and people all got soaked. At about 12:30, the sun finally arrived and things got hot. Sadly, this is the 4th year in a row that this show has had rain. Our club registered 14 cars of the 80 that were in the show. The Biermann’s registered their Mustang but it was safe and dry in their garage. They were there to support. One truck was display only. Of the 12 members cars that were actually in the show, all 12 went home with a trophy. Our club also took home the club participation trophy. The show itself raised $5,300 that included 10% of the food sales and the family won the $585 in the 50-50 for a total of nearly $6,000 which included our $100 donation. Thanks to all of our members who were able to support and to Dennis McBee and Debbie McBee who promoted this worthwhile event to our club and to John Moss and the Give Back crew for all of their selfless work they do to help needy people in our community.
