Wheels in Motion Car Show

On a cool and rainy September 11th morning, our club attended the Wheels in Motion Car Show held at Westport Plaza. Though really not a show car with class winners, it’s always a win with the kids with cancer as all proceeds go to The National Children’s Cancer Society. But again, the weather affected another show as the rain kept most away. At about 11:30 am, there were less than 40 cars in attendance. This year was the 3rd year in a row that the show had rain. Our club’s participation was understandably small but we had eight cars and trucks, more entrees than any other club except for the sponsoring clubs. Our club donated $200 in memory of Dorothy Ketchum who had recently passed. They had their usual Model T assembly and a 50-50 to help raise funds. We had members Mike Lechwar and John Walling dropping off donations and members attending included Paula Goodrich, Rick Miller, Angles Felipe, Terry Koch, Dennis and Deb McBee with their highly modified “F-150”, Rich Garavaglia, Dan Kelly, and Donna and Bob Layton. Others may have showed up later. We thank those members who helped support this worthy fundraiser.

About the Club

Fords Unlimited Car Club was formed back in November of 1986. The club has evolved through friendship and camaraderie into a large group of people of all ages, who enjoy getting together to share stories, problems, plans and have fun with their Ford, Lincoln or Mercury products. Sign up if you’re interested in the preservation, history, enjoyment and use of Ford Motor Company as well.
